Diet is a 4-letter word in the truest sense of the word. To most people “diet” implies deprivation and punishment and is usually a means to an end. The hope being that end is a weight loss goal but also in many cases that end signifies the time to reward oneself, celebrate with something you felt deprived of and probably will lead to binging.
Sugar is physically addictive but in order to overcome that addiction, you need to retrain your brain. You need to focus on finding ways to soothe and comfort yourself without food, particularly without sugar and overly processed junk food.
Some suggestion to help positively re-focus your mindset are:
Focus on doing things that make you feel good about yourself.
Exercise as often as possible. Releasing endorphins can help put you in a good mood.
Set intentions each morning for that day.
Practice deep breathing techniques to calm the noises in your head and give you some quiet time.
When you retrain your brain and actually make mindset modifications, you will create a sustainable new and healthy lifestyle. You will learn to give up that which doesn’t serve you and embrace that which makes you happier and healthier. You will ultimately Feel Better In Your Body.
