Cauliflower steaks are a delicious side for any bbq but if you follow a mostly plant-based lifestyle, these bad boys are big enough and hearty enough to satisfy your appetite.
Ingredients:
- 1 whole cauliflower cut into steaks* (I sometimes cheat and buy them already sliced)
- 2 T olive oil (I like to use a lemon infused olive oil for 1 of the tablespoons)
- 1 whole lemon juiced
- ½ lemon zested
- 2 cloves of garlic, grated
- 1 T agave
- Pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
Directions:
- Brush lemon olive oil mixture on to cauliflower steaks
- Turn over and brush the other side
- Cook on hot grill
- Carefully turn over when you see black scores on cauliflower and it becomes fork tender
*To cut a whole cauliflower:
- Start with a whole head of cauliflower, cut away the bottom and break off leaves
- Stand cauliflower on the flat bottom and slice into the center making 2 equal halves
- Slice carefully into each half making 2-3 even steaks
